Light weights / high reps???

Heavy Weights / Low Reps???

Always a showdown (and typically a show in gender politics), the perception that the low weight/ high rep combo tones while the heavy weight/low rep combo bulks continues to perplex exercisers everywhere.

It's that old stereotype of being one or the other- the bulked-up dudes, sweaty and high-fiving over a loaded up squat bar OR a Pilates princess kicks smoothly...

Let's address it- the issue that sparks so heated a debate it’s a surprise no one has self-combusted. Yet.

Absolutely everything is pumpkin- pumpkin spice lattes , pumpkin rolls, pumpkin bread, pumpkin truffles- even pumpkin fro-yo. But no matter how much you rage against it, the line won't lower at Starbucks. The real problem isn't whether there should be things like pumpkin spiced Oreo's. The problem is that there aren't enough readily-available, healthy options.

OHH Man. After a workout, the last thing you want to do is ruin all of your hard work with some pre-made, dull meal. Sure, your Power bar is sustaining you for the moment, but in an hour your stomach will start grumbling for some grub.

Whole foods are definitely the way to go, with veggies and salmon being a great option for evenly distibuted protein/fiber/healthy-fat mix. We'll be posting soon about the importance of this mix in a few weeks to come.

To prove that these workouts can truly be done #ANYWHERE, we went to the road. No comfy grass, nothing but some gravel and a bench- a park bench that is. Super simple.

On to the workout.

Do 15 reps for each exercise, then cycle back and complete all exercises again, in order, 2 more times. That means, 15 reps each, 3 cycles total.

Here's the running list:

1) Jumping jacks

2) Tower Touch

3) Tricep Dips

4) Raised Knee-Touch

5) Lifted Pushups

6) Caterpill...

Today we are in our very own backyard.

Definitely excited to get started, we overtook a soccor field on the Saucon Valley bike trail that we are lucky enough to be right in front of.

So, in keeping with the promise of NO EQUIPMENT NEEDED, we came armed with only our sneaks, Heart Rate Monitors,  and some much needed agua. We got one of our advisors, Audrey, to perform the exercises for us- you know, by luring her outside with the promise of sunshine and happ...

Wooopfff it's been a crazy summer! We are so ready to be indoors now that the bridal show was a welcome retreat. Loved seeing all the brides-to-be out there and that the reception of Svelte went over so well!

We got some seriously good choreographing ideas after all the conversations and were soo surprised to hear some of the songs- avant-garde is totally in. If you want to see some more images, the facebook page has been loaded up and is now chock full of crazy and...
